Default super wheel weight ??

Ok ,I'm almost ready to roll but i have a weight question .

what are you guys with superclass rigs and proline 40's running for weight in the wheels or for overall weight front and rear

I think I'm too heavy , I have about 16.5 oz in each front and 11oz in each rear wheel .

I`m going to run a lipo pack so i wont have cells for weight around the axles .

Any input is appreciated.

I think its up to personal prefferance, Driving style and terrain. I would try it the way you have it and adjust as needed. My super started out with 6oz only in the front and after testing I added 6oz more to the front and 6 oz in the rear.

I'm running over 16oz in the front in addition to the actual wheel and tire, and none in the real. SO I don't think your too heavy.

Im running 16ounces on each front knuckle plus the wheel and tire and 3 ounces on each rear knuckle. I think you should be ok.

I'm running 0 oz front and rear, the Moabs are plenty heavy compared to the rest of my truck.

Just wondering.......have you tried weights with this particular truck?

I am also curious if you have tried adding any weight to your knuckles. I am not a fan of weight in tires with a super but i do like it on the knuckles.

My chassis that i run (CFNN) is probably one of the lightest chassis there is and i am still running weight. Your truck may have more potential than you are aware of.

How many of you are running the extra weight with stock axles/tubes/knuckles? I would like to introduce some weight to the front of my rig but I fear that the dorky stock axles will not take it.

I have run weight with my stock gear cases and axle tubes with no breakage. However, I would be worried about the stock inner and stub axles, since they break with out weight.

Ha yeah, I can see they look real weak. They look like the Dana35 "c" clip axles I had in a wrangler. I broke those damn things all the time. I was just curious to see if anyone was pushing the stock inners. Thanks

Not with these tires, with some BFT's I had on earlier I had 3 oz in each tire. I like my truck to be as light as possible for climbing and general torque.

Not really, its just weight in the wheels or on the axles is a HUGE improvement for climbing ability. I seem to be a light compared to most on here at 8ish oz up front and 5ish out back. But I am planning on adding another 6-8oz on the front axle.

Weight if added to the axle or knuckle its self does not add any extra rotational mass. So it should not effect torque in any way.If added to the actual tire its self it does tend to pull down on the power. So in my opinion weight in the tires is bad when your dealing with a super class rig.(2.2 is a totally different story) But weight on the axles and especially the knuckles is a must.
I have never messed with a truck that did not need some weight added to the axle.
Weight helps in so many different ways. When in the front it aids in vertical climbs to keep the front planted.
When you add weight to the knuckles down low it helps offset the weight you have up high (chassis, electronics, etc.) and greatly improves the stability when side hilling.
Unless you just go way overboard on adding weight or you put it in the wrong place i do not see were there is any down fall at all.
