Default How to install this? Motor Spacers.

Hi,

I bought the integy adjustable motor spacers. But I am puzzled as to how to install them onto my Clod!

http://www.integy.com/cgi-bin/webc.c...10&p_catid=107

There are no screws or installation guide to follow. On each spacer, there are 6 drilled thru 3mm holes, and 2 elongated slots, what kind of screws do I need and how do I install them? I'm really confused, I'm sure experienced people here can help me out. Thanks!!

If they're really as thick as those look, you'll also need RC4WD style pinions as the stock ones will never reach the gears.

I'm including a photo of our kit, which use a 30mm hex head bolt to hold the spacers to the gearbox and a 8 mm flat head screw to attach the motor to the adapter.

On ours, install the 30mm bolt 1st, then attach the motor to the adapter. The threads from the longer hardware will stick out through the gearcase and can then be tightened from the other side of the gearcase.

Default Thank you!

Hi Brett (from your signature),

Thank you very much for sharing! Looking at the spacers in your attached pic, I guess I'd have to modify the intergy spacers, 'cos they don't come countersunk drilled on the other side to adapt those flatheads. I really wonder why they made it this way, IMO, not usable... I expected them to come with the neccessary hardwares, am a bit dissapointed...

I've been browsing this site and you've always been great help, keep it up!

i bought 2 different manufacturers (won't mention them ) and both were crap .....then i bought the CPE mounts and it was so simple to install with the perfect hardware...just my opinion but i would just send for the CPE mounts and save a lotta time and hassle....LOL

Another piece of crap from Integy. I had to countersink the two holes and put a 3mm locknut inside the elongated holes in order to attach them to the gearbox. You will definitely need to use longer pinions with that plate. I found this out after putting everything together and had to order them seperately from RC4WD.

They are called Adjustable Motor Mounts. They allow the use of different sized pinions. I think he just called it spacers, b/c he didn't know.
