| Hey guys. One of you should be able to answer this one fairly easily. I'm wanting to build a 2.2 Clod comp rig, but I'm conserned about the Clods Axle width. How wide is a clod axle? |

| I'm not sure what the hex to hex number is.. I should, but I don't remember. Many guys have built 2.2 Clods with in the Rules. There are bolt on parts and beadlocks. That will get your Track with under 10.5in. Using Stock axle shafts. Using TTR CVD's will bring you near 11in. You can mod the TTR CVD's to bring you back down 10.5in. |

| I was just wondering how you increase the wheelbase. Is it possible? |

Neil, here is my build thread for my 2.2 clod: The rebuilding of The Grunt (2.2 pimp cane clod) I narrowed my large TTR CVD's. I do not recommend the small CVD's for a clod because they break easily. No matter what you will need custom bead locks to get a narrow track width. 86 jeep has also modded his TTR CVD's and TTR Straight axles. He modded his much more and has his clod axles very narrow. He however, removes the knuckles in the rear using only the TTR straight axles and he cuts the front knuckles in half and only uses one bearing. It works for him on his comp 2.2 TCS stick clod. I run too much weight to do his mod, plus I am using a pimp cane. My mod will get you narrower and still give you the structural support the clod was originally designed with. I don't think one way is better than another. Both work well. It really depends on what you crawl, how often you crawl, how you treat your crawlers. | |
