| Ooops - don't try this at home!
Damn , grub screw came out of pinion gear and here is what happened :-( At least the parts are only an over night courier away and cheap |

| I don't see how you can run brushless motors with plastic gears, I could never get them to last on the rocks.

Yeah was wondering about the metal gears. I bought this rig already built and the previous owner had not lock tight'd the grub screw lock tight'd now though . The plastic gears cost $15 a set and are easy to get hold of here in NZ not like the CVD's so thought just run them as a sacrificial part of the drive train BUT if you guys can shed some light on why I should upgrade to metal gears then I am listening . Hell it seems about the only thing this rig does not have .

I wouldn't want to strip those gears on the first course of a comp.My medal gears havn't broke and axles yet. |
