| Sons New Super Clodbuster
Just thought I would share a few pictures of my kids new Clod. Its his truck so while I went halves in the buying the kit and radio, he wants to save up for mods so we are seeing what we can do without spending a great deal of cash. We have had it a week and so far we (we I have lol) have : Narrowed the rims locked the diffs Shaved the diff's changed the shock mounts re-wired the motors Removed the steering stops This weekend we are hoping to change the pinions (8T ok with stock motors?) and get another servo and y-cable so we can change the steering setup (if anyone has a good pick of how the servo mounts it woudl be appreciated as we got to make the brackets) and for bling .. give the body a coat of satin clear coat and paint the wheels black as well ;) Last edited by ontrack2; 05-08-2008 at 07:24 PM. Nice work on the suspension. I like the stock look and the shocking (no pun intended) Amount of travel you got. I made a servo plate to axle mount the servos while keeping the stock links and such. I'd post pics but I can't here.

Heck with that, buy another one so both can get the true hands on experience. Twice as much fun to be had! |

my little mate has decided i am the pit crew and he is the driver lol He has been helping out big time though and he made the links for the steering..which are pretty cool..1/4 steel rod, sheathed in Carbon tube. and well..problem is i got the bug now..so i think once we got the clod sorted we will make a tube crawler. I was going to buy a chassis but i would really like to make one..probably going to make it a semi-scale cralwer based on a friends 4x4.. This is the inspiration for what we will make.. with Bodywork without bodywork Out Playing so shopping list for this is so far: Portal's with Heavy Duty Gears (the real thing has Unimog portals so hey why not ;) ) D40 (or T-Rex 60) Axles R2 Disconnect 4WS (set up to crab steer) Dual Spring Scale Shocks truescale 2.2 beadlocks rockcrusher 2.2 X/T tyres 55T Lathe Motor we just got to work out how to hide it all from the wife ;) Last edited by ontrack2; 05-09-2008 at 06:10 PM. |
