Default Can you identify the maker of this Clod Alum Axle Tube?

I have a set of Aluminum Clod Axle Tubes and I am trying to figure out who makes them. The reason I am posting this is because these *appear* to be different from the other tubes I have seen on various vendor websites. The main differences seem to be the shaved C area where the tube mates to the knuckle mounts, the use of 4 hex bolts rather than 3 phillips screws at said junction and the addition of the tiny threaded "ear tabs" at either end of each knuckle mount. These things are pointed out in the photo. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

- Those are Integy tubes. They bolt to the case.

- Hot Racing tubes attach to the case by screwing into them through the case.

Now that we know they are Integy tubes, are they still being made the same way (meaning are Integy tubes bought today still going to have those little ear tabs that are threaded on each side of the knuckle/steering block mount)?

The pictures that I am seeing of Integy tubes do not *appear* to have these ear tabs.

Additionally....anyone care to elaborate on who makes the better tube and why? I'm trying to put together a semi bad-a$$ rig the first time, rather than speding money 3 times to keep upgrading the same parts.

I hate to say this, especially since I am not an Integy fan, but they have the best axle tubes out (IMO). Integy is making them with the tabs. I just bought these Integy tubes three months ago from an Ebay store.

I broke a Hot Racing set of tubes, due to my own negligence. The bottom screw that holds the steering knuckle had backed itself out and fallen out. I got the rig bound up pretty bad and it broke the "C" mounting tab off the Hot Racing tube. I could not get Hot Racing to respond to me and the vendor the tube was purchased from was of no help either. I only needed the C portion replaced, the axle tube itself was fine. So I reluctantly bought the Integy's. When I set out remove the Hot Racing tubes, the allen headed screws stripped out and I had to drill the heads off to remove the tube from the case.

So that is another reason why I prefer to bolt the axle tubes on (like the Integy's are designed for). If you don't want to bolt the tubes on, you could do this mod:

Some people really like it because the axles unscrew from the outside of the case and make changing an axle very easy.

Really good info Nova, thank you...and the pix helped too!

I was thinking that what I had was likely the best based soley off what I had seen in pictures. The part I was not aware of was the difference in mounting the tubes to the case but if you are building an all metal case-gear-tube-shaft setup its likely you will not need to access the tube mounts anytime soon.

Thank you to those who replied. Looks like i will be getting another set of the Integy Tubes to match the pair I have.

He was probably trying to buy just the C portion of the axle tube.

Hmm...never underestimate superfluous pre-drilled and threaded holes! They may actually be useful to someone creative. Better to have and not need than to need and not have in situation I suspect.
