Default RCP Crawlers 12-23 adaptors defect? or just brittle?

I'm running a Gecko 60/40, Clod axles(duh) Pro-line Cheyenne Beadlocks, Moab XLs . Fronts weighted 7oz, rear 3.5oz, 55t integys, 6 tooth pinions. Yesterday out on a normal ride, third time out with the rig and I exploded two of the adapter discs. I'm not sure what material they are made of, but seem really brittle.

I'm hoping it's an unusual defect, otherwise...

$29.99 down the tubes.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had bad luck with these, or if perhaps I got a bad set.

Still waiting for a response from the folks at RCP.

Anyone got any suggestions on a more durable set of 12-23 adapters?
Thanks
