| A 2.2 Clod Reborn-
After our last comp- I decided to take care of the shortcomings that I felt were holding the ol "country Crawler Back: 1. Axle clearance 2. Overall width 3. New Shoes Before: Super Capable, but a little too wide.... Mods: Reign Jefferson Chassis Agressor BTA Steering RCguy Motor Mounts 8t pinions Integy Lockers Homeade dig 5645 Servo Narrowed Pede Wheels M2 Mashers with Northwest Foams So, Here's what I did: First- I contacted MAYHEM ENGINEERING for a set of 2.2 Beadlocks. He Went FAR and ABOVE to try to get my track width in from the 11 3/4" it was with the pede wheels. Where did we end up? 10 7/8" These beadlocks are sick- and big thanks to Mayhem- He did everything in his power to meet my specifications- and came through all the way! Tires/Foams: Panthers all the way! I am running Memory foams in the front and Full un-cut prolines in the rear so it does not roll over. Axles: JP customRC's small C tubes and knuckles Give me way more axle clearance and were needed to bring the beadlocks in: And just for Pure Bling: A mike's custom RC paint Grappler body: So here she is ready for the next Test and Tune- Country Crawler No More: |

Killer rig. How wide are the wheels? Thinking about getting some.

Update: The rig is too heavy for the Stock Panther memory foams, so im going to cut some standard froams, and sandwich the Memory in the middle- a homeade hybrid so to speak. Comp this saturday in RI, we'll see how it does. Jeff |

I have found that the unmodified stock Losi grey foam from the rock claws work best. I have tried several different combos, and by far the stock losi grey foam is working the best. ACE doughnuts work great in the front, they climb and conform excellent, but they do not side hill. I am running 51/2 inch tall tires custom tires. One set is narrowed MoLands and the other set is LizardClaws and I am very happy with both sets. The Losi foam is about 3/8 short so it gives the tire some room to help with traction with out sacrificing side hill stability. It is just a suggestion, but it is working on the terrain here in Texas.

Great job on the rebuild Jeff!! The rig is looking great and you did some sweet upgrades. Great rig. I've got a new 2.2 Clod in the works that should have some cool ideas as well. |
