I just got one like that, but with a real nice body, paid $100, I think it's worth it, if the axles are in good shape.

only thing you will use from that for a crawler are the axles....for 100 bucks its still worth it, most axles go for 110-135 set. would have been nice if the body was included scaler guys would buy them up for around 50-75 bucks.

I would skip it for two reasons. Both based on the fact that all you are going to end up using of it is the axles and the tx/rx. 1) the axles are used, and possibly VERY used. In stock form, it doesn't take too much to crack all the plastic on the Clod axles. Without a highly detailed inspection of the axles, you can't determine their condition. 2) the Python, although a great radio that I used personally for years, is only a 2 channel tx/rx system. If you desire to run any type of third channel (rear steer, DIG, etc) in the future, this system will quickly become useless to you. If the axles are in great condition, and you think you will only desire 2-channels in the future, then it may very well be a great deal for you. www.rcpcrawlers.com sells a pair of NEW Clod axles with bearings for $130. I would personally start here if I was starting down the path you are. Good Luck!! |
