Default Time for an all out rebuild :D

Well, I got tired with what I have. Kevin came over with his clod, and I realized I've got a lot of work to do. My truck works excellent, but it has a few things I really feel could be improved on. And since my 1:1 rig is on an indefinite hold, I don't feel bad putting a little more into this guy...

On the list is:
K-Rocks
Aluminum Wheels with my fancy Lathe
New Chassis, prob aluminum, I'll go tube when I get my welder
Some super long links, flat uppers, and still the same plastic ends (metal ones will most likely come with the tuber)
Aiming at a 17.5" wheelbase
Savage Shocks
Lathe Motors w/ 14.4V (They are rated to 12V so my controller will be set to only use about 80% throttle)
EVX; being sent in for repair, with the 55T motors there is no way I'll ever harm it.
4 wheel steer, only one channel for now though till I decide to get a 3ch. 250~ oz-in servo in front, 180 out back.
Got some more 3300 mAH so I've got about 25AH of capacity A full 12 hour day of crawling with those lathe motors!!!!!
9 tooth pinions (waited way too long on that one!)

I guess thats about it. TONS of pics and a detailed writeup as soon as parts start coming in

For all you clod people, GET LATHE MOTORS. They are awesome, they have more torque than any motor I've run, and even using a 1500 mAH pack and a EVX that was trying to short out, I was still getting 30 minutes of run time (practically vertical run time) At full throttle my clod with stock pinions moves at a fast walk. I'm hoping with the K-Rocks (6.75") and 9 tooth pinions I should be at that or slower But with the 14V on hand I can still kick em up to hit about 14k RPM.

I CAN'T WAIT!! Found some more awesome crawling spots here, man I love this place!

Now I just gotta wait for parts... :(

I'm not sure this will work the way you want it. With an ESC, FULL power/voltage is applied to the motor no matter how much throttle you give it. It just sends different electrical pulses to the motor to determine speed. Try it. Grab a meter and give it a little throttle or a lot of throttle, the voltage is the same.

Interesting. I figured it would rate the voltage. Well, I can run it and see, exceeding specs by 2.4V isn't a huge deal. It might work out like I want, might not. 7.2V on those lathe motors is still FAR more torque than any other motors I've used. It'd just be nice to have the option for some RPM.

So, if the ESC doesn't control V wouldn't it control how many W/A go to the motor? That'd sorta do it it.. Just means I'd be pushing the motor a dab harder.
