Default Wheel help!

I've got a Clod that I'm working on making into a 2.2, not for comps just fun, went out and bought some Proline M2K Mashers and Tamiya CR-01 beadlocks. I was using some HPI wheels before, they fit fine using the bushing spacer trick, but with the M2Ks I'm going to need to play around with foams, hence the beadlocks.

80 little screws and bleeding fingers later, I find out that the CR-01 wheels won't mount on the Clod axles, the shaft is too big for the hole in the wheel.

Is there a solution to this other than either buying new wheels? The end result doesn't have to be comp legal width. I'm thinking wideners might work, but I don't want to throw good money after bad. I could ream the hole out, that'd kill the wheels if I messed up though.

Thanks in advance

-val

I'd drill out the hole on the wheels. I have had to do this with other wheels....just take your time and you should be fine.

Thanks Jeremy, I opened the holes up with a round file, little bit at a time and I think it's still centered, or close enough. Ran the rig for the first time with proper tires, I'm a pretty happy camper now.

I just drilled out the hole on the cr01 wheels, and used the standard clod brass hexes, just ground the lip off one side of the hex, work fine.
And i can still use the wheels on the CR.
