Default 2.2 Comp Clod Rebuilt

I'm a little slow at getting things done...

Last year I broke two HR CVD's on this thing. Took me 8 months to fix it. I put another set of HR CVD's back in. Giving them the benifit. Tried volting down. First outing. Nothing to crazy. Broke another one..

So Returned back to the TTR CVD's, Volted back up. Modd'ed the TTR CVD's with LST Alumn 14mm Hex's. Saves almost 1/4in on each side. Track with is right at 11in.

Spec's:
*Clod Axles: Small Alumn Tubes, Small Alumn Knuckles, Integy Alumn Gears, TTR CVD's, LST2 14mm Hex's, bearings, Plastic gear cases.
*Chassis: Pimp Cane Flipped Rear axle
*Electronics: 5995TG, Mamba Max, Castle BEC, 3c Lipo, Dig, CrawlMax 60T with 9t Pinions, DX3R (Changing to 45T's soon.)
*Beadlocks: Mayhem 2.2 Clod offset with 14mm Hex's
*Tires: Molanders with Memory Foams. (Xtreme Rc hobbies)

Trucks Weight. Fully Loaded and RTR.... 6lbs 14oz.

I completely rebuilt this rig from the Gears out. In two hours, That counts painting a new body. Right before the Comp.... Didn't have a chance to test it out. Just bench tested only. Well I got lucky and everything worked perfect.

First Comp... Rig worked fine.. Driver is a different story. Been a while since I drove in a Comp. Just need to look at the gates differently. But all in all the rig just flat out worked.. It was all drivers error...

Pic's

Now before I was going to try and run Panthers on it. But that was when my Track width was under 10.5in. back up to 11in... Need a Taller tire. I'm going to try those Hot-Bodies when they are ready. See how they work out.

Looks good man! I was driving my 2.2 Clod this weekend as well....and realized how bad I suck with the DX6. I really need more practice.

Are these the hex's you are running:

?

I am still looking to narrow my track width just a bit and those TTR hex's are huge!

1 mamba max, 60 turn motors and 9t pinions and clodstall is not a problem for you? Do you have stock gearing or are you geared down?

By stock gearing you mean Stock gears in the Case. Then Yes. I'm going to try 45T's or 50T's and see how it does. I'd like a little more WheelSpeed.

Interesting Facts:

Ax-10 with Losi CLaws.(5in) Ground clearance under axles = 1-1/4in
Bully's with Panthers. (5in) Ground clearance under axles = 1-3/4in
Clod with Molanders. (5.5in) Gorund clearance under axles = 1-3/4in
Berg with Panthers. (5in) Ground clearance under axles = 1-7/8in

So the Berg wins even with shorter tires. No big surprise there..

Just order those new Hot bodies that are 5.5in Tall. These should take the 2.2 Clod to the Next level.

Thinking of taking my Super clod and turning it into a 2.2

Can't wait to see how it looks and performs with the new tires.

No. I wish someone would make some Shorter TTR CVD's. Then getting the Track width down to 10.5in wouldn't be a Problem. I'm running pretty wide tires and have 11in track width. If I can a Panther on a 1in wide Rim with shorter TTR CVD's (Stock Width) I'd say 10-3/8in would be easy to get.

If I get the Track width back done a little more. Which I'm not really worried about it. I'd have to hack the body up a lot more. Right now While turning on flat ground the Tires touch and rub the fenders.

Took the rig ou today to shoot some Video. Batteries were dead(Camera). Got 30sec of Video.. It as about 40* and freezing cold. The Molander Tires with Memory foam were not up to it all. Pro-Line M2 compound doesn't work the best in Cold weather. I have a set of new HB Rover tires on the way. Hopping those will be the ticket for this winter seires.

I'm thinking about cutting the out Shafts down and Brazing some threaded rod in it. Then redrilling a hole for the pin. To get back down to Stock Width with TTR CVD's. As anyone done this before? If so how did it work out?

i just picked up a set of clod axles and want to build a 2.2 to beat bergs. do you loose any traction with the narrower tires? braze up those axles and test the hell out of them.

I just drilled holes in the CVD's and moved the hexes in more, and used 14mm hexes off a mad force. I also had to drill the rims so the the CVD stub would go through them and used spacers to snug the bolt up against the rim..
