here's my custom built vw beetle roll cage

Being that tall makes it look kinda "monster-trucky" but it does look kinda cool wif da bug body. I'd move the lower links to the top of the "C" hub for more clearance.

Cage looks pretty good.

I'd clean up the solder joints since they arent looking so hot, but other than that, looks good so far.

thats y i said its almost done not done lol still got small finishing touches and i think i am gunna lower the cage so it isn't so top heavy

hmm ... why not build a 100% tuber chassis, you got pretty much the skills already and just need to clean those joints up. btw, whats your height on that chassis?

the ground clearance? if thats what you mean its 5 1/2 " with a 16" wheelbase

i must be losing my mind lol but the hight from ground up to top of chassis plate is 8 1/2" and the chassis plate its self is 4" and from ground to the top of the cage it is 12 inches but i'm going to lower that cage soon prolly today i just got done lower the ground clearance to 4 "

new pics to be added soon the chassis has been lowered to 4" clearance with the 16" wheelbase and soon the stearing will be moved to behind the axle....o and the cage and body will be lowered

Man.. I would SERIOUSLY consider ditching the origional chassis and adding some shock/link mounts to that buggy cage and turning it into a full on tuber.

You would save so much extra weight and lower the cog tremendously, plus a tuber bug would be hella cool.

i'm in the designing of a tuber right now to replace it i am just leaving it like that so i can drive it untill the tube is almost complete

i used solder to hold it together but the solder i used i did not like its quality so i am going to take off the solder and mig weld it and it is 3/16 brake line.
