| Scrappy the Super
You ever stand back and look at your RC stuff and think, Man, I bet I could build a couple full trucks from these parts? Well, that was my exact scenario, and I decided to actually try. And so begins the build for "Scrappy" the super-class clod. |

So the trucks begins with a few very nice pieces: Full Integy Aluminum axles. These have some nice 55t motors paired up with 9t pinions and adjustable motor mounts (Thundertech Racing, I believe). Clear windows on the gear cases ensure mesh is proper. Wheels will be the proven combo of Proline Moab XL's with cut foams riding on a set of Cheyenne beadlocks. This will all fit together compliments of Integy aluminum knuckles and 23mm adapters. Bottom links are UBER beefy, and will be a set of custom high clearance units. That's all for now, but expect more to come, including a Reign K2-3S chassis, likely a droop suspension set-up, and possibly a 4-channel, dual esc, fully independent radio set-up. |

| Admittedly, seeing how easily you tossed together a functional truck did get the gears turning. That being said, this should still be a pretty slick build when it's done. I'm hoping for a 90% hack-free set-up....LOL.

Well, I had a bit of free time to sit back and loot at Scrappy today, and a few things came out of it. 1) This build will be much "nicer" then originally planned. Very minimal hack is planned now... ;) 2) This truck is gonna be huge! 3) This will be a fairly "Comp" style build. I'm excited! |

So I got the Reign K2-3S chassis built up. Excellent piece of kit, IMO......this is the 6th Reign I've picked up, and I love 'em. Mounted the HC lower links inside the chassis plates. Nothing is gettin' hung up here! Front axle and upper links went on smoothly. I wanted the rear links to be a bit longer (to clock the axle up a bit more and give the motor some extra clearance), so out came the aluminum, 8/32 allthread, and Revo Ball ends....... Tossed on the rear axle, and the beast starts to take shape. Wheelbase is sitting at 18". Next up, suspension (droop), steering, and battery/electronics tray. Stay tuned... |

Are those the integy HD tubes and knuckles? Do you like em? Are they actually more beefy compared to the old tubes and knuckles?

| They sure are. They are Uber Beefy compared to the stock stuff. Not sure if the extra beef is needed over and above Integy's "normal" style clod aluminum bits..........but hey, it can't hurt, right? The cool thing with these, is that the Castor Blocks (axle tubes) appear to have the ability to be clocked with the gearcases. Niffty. |

Did a few more minutes worth of work today. Got the rear Moab XL's mounted on the Cheyenne beadlocks. 7.5oz of weight per wheel. Started to work on the suspension. Picked up some nice Revo (?) sized aluminum big-bore shocks. Very nice and beefy. Set up is going to have 1000wt oil in the rear, and 80wt in the front. This is aiming to be a comp style rig, so flex will be fairly minimal, and the COG will be LOW. I'm aiming for a center skid clearance of 3"-4". More progress and pics to come this weekend................... |

Rear shocks are mounted up now. The design is actually working really well. The shorter shock will provide a nice low stance with limited flex, but it looks like a set of Maxx shocks will just slip on too (in case more ride height or articulation is required). |
