this is what i have for now

and my budget is not very big. so the plan for now is to do everything one piece at a time. i will keep you all up to date on progress though it will probably be slow going. first oder of buisness replacing the axle tube. any recomendaitions would be appreciated, looking at teh 5-15 dollar range.

Those are good axles to start with.

For that amount, the stock tube will be the best. Make sure to use the axle braces if you plan to stick with the stock tubes though...

These should be the parts that you need:
Axle Tubes
Axle Braces

the axle tubes are just a start, i will probably get some aftermarket braces at a later date. the first order will be tubes, axels and a bearing set.

What are your plans for the axles? Crawler or basher ?

I have taken my clods of many a 4 foot ramp and never broken a tube but then again my chassis on the jump truck is pretty light.

I would just replace the tube with the stock one and pick up the stock tube braces as well...the part number is 9405352 and only runs about $7 or $8....

my axles are a bit old, i have had the truck myself for about since i was 16, i am now 28 if that tells you anything. i still ave teh origional body laying around here and will probably use that for a scaler later on. it will be both a crawler and a basher. i lost the first axle not even doing that much, which is why i am planning on replacing all 4 tubes.

Go to your local hardware store, they should have them individually, bring in one that you have to match the size correctly.

in that case, stock axle tubes are your only option. i got aluminum ones if you want a couple of my stock one. i'll send you three good ones for 12 bones.

the mystery is half the fun. right now i am still trying to figure stuff out. this is going to be a budget build, i will probably be using alot of parts i have laying around the house. i have acutally been thinking wheni get an after market chassis for it, using the axial chasis for this thing. though these are all ideas atm.

wow it has been a while since i have posted anything on this, i am finally getting my finances on this around, and should be ordering the parts to get the axles back together again, looks like about 80 dollars, but that is with a full bearing set. still trying to decide on a chassis, this is going to be a budget super build on that much i have decided. more to come, i have lost access to my camera for a bit but will get new pics up of the axles soon.

also, any advantages to running 2 six cell split packs? i am thinking of using 2 esc's probably mounted on the axle next to the servo. with them both directly on top. would this setup be any good?, or should i just use one esc mounted on the chassis?

as for a chassis. for a really well proven chassis at a good price you can piece together a NN chassis from tcscrawlers for about $40. they dont sell it complete anymore but you can still get the side plates, skid, and cross supports for cheap. the 08u national champ runs the carbon fiber version of the same chassis

I have a back Bone Chassis that I can let you have for 34.99. It is a torsion chassis design with great results.
Here is a link to the thread!

Default speedos

I run the LRP speed controllers you asked about and they do work. The problems are the "A.I." delays reverse and they also have NO holding (drag brake) They got me up and running for a bit but I DO want new ones now.
