| I have a CMR CX2 chassis. All this talk of 60/40 setups is getting my attention. Can I simply add 1" to my rear links and shorten my front links by 1" and call it a day or will that mess up the suspension? For now I'd just use tube to make some new links, so don't worry about the fancy lower links that come with the CX2. Grassy @ss -Jay |

| Maybe you should just make your rear links longer instead of both front and rear... But i dunno... |

| if you only add to the rear links it would extend the wb which would be the way 2 go if that is what you want want. |

Tell us what your wheelbase is from wheelnut to wheelnut. Assuming both front and rear links are the same length, we can tell you what you should do with the links to get a nice 60/40 set-up that will have you around a 16" (or whatever you're going for) wheelbase.

| My wheelbase is 16.5" and that's plenty, really don't want longer. -Jay |

| With a 16.5" wheelbase, I would make the front lower links 3/4 or 1 inch shorter and make the upper links shorter accordingly. (dont just guess, you need write out a ratio) 16" is about where you want your wheelbase. |

BigJay, it is that easy. Add an inch, subtract an inch. The suspension's range of motion will change a wee bit, but nothing drastic. Making links is easy enough, and cheap enough, and worth a shot for sure. Another idea, if there's room, maybe you can build more of a brick style battery and get 3 cells on top of the other 3 cells. That would get some weight up front. A 3 cell Sub C pack can fit on the axle too. So does a 7 cell AA pack, or numerous 2/3A, and 4/5A batteries. Many options these days. I'd suggest checking out the Crawler Store Forum for some pictures of different battery set ups on Clods. Might be a good alternative to weight distribution than altering link lengths.

| i thought it would be easier to just shorten the front but I guess if you're not afraid of a little work and spending some money you could get 8 new links made up... |

| Hey thanks EP. It's cheap enough so I'll give it a shot when I get a chance. I could do the battery thing, but I think links would be cheaper for now. First things first, I'm putting some weights in my front wheels tonight. -Jay |

I just put all my weight up front, and low instead, and left the weights out of the tires. Less strain on the servo, less mush from the servo saver. Worth a shot of course, popular mod too. There was a definate improvement with my TXT, but not so much with the Clod.
