Pinion question.....

How much pinion do you really need with a lathe motor?

I am using the stock clod pinions and they seem to work fine so far.

That's up to you. Stock Clod's are 13 tooth I think, I would have to count my old ones to be sure. I now run 10's and plan on buying a 9 for the rear to get rid of the stall. The 10 front is just right for me. I can crawl good (with a little finger control) and still get the tires to spin when I need it (ledge climbing). At about $10 per pinion, it's not to expensive to try different gearing. I would go low 1st and if too low then go up from there to find your happy medium. 10 front and 9 rear with lathes seems to be really common though.
