| Trail Clod?
I have been checking out several videos of RC trucks rolling along muddy trails and even through some pretty deep water hazzards. Is it possible to build a truck of this nature using Clods axles? I am curious about this since the motors are mounted to the axles housing. Any pics of Clods in action on the trail would greatly be appreciated!

You can do so with any MOA axles. I have packed my clod axles with synthetic NLGI#1 rated grease to add more weight to the axle and to also give it waterproofing. (I would use NLGI#0 but I have not been able to find any rated zeros that are sold in tube. The smallest I've seen these sold is in 35pound containers.) Brushed motors can handle mud and water, but definitely will require more maintenance than normal. The servos, receiver, esc, battery is what you needs to worry more about waterproofing. Plenty of threads on that: Plastidip, packing with grease, balloons, waterproof boxes, etc.... |
