Default NN Hauler

Finally I have made some progress in my crawler building and got my NN build almost completed for the holidays ...I am very impressed with the NN!!! I've allways been a fan of this chassis and knew I wanted one ever since the first time I saw it and its everything I was hoping it would be and more (cant belive that still after years its THE super chassis)... I have been gathering all the rest of the parts for a while now whilst doing my homework and reading up on some inspirational buids ...

Parts list so far;

Axles::::::Clod/Thundertech CVDs/JPCustoms Knuckles
Gears::::::RC4WD Locked Aluminum
Steering F:Thunder Tech Aggressor
Steering R:RC4WD kit
Shocks:::::Tamiya TG-04
Chassis::::TCS NN
Wheels:::::Pro-Line40(narrow)Com-blackened (rings not done)
Wheel Adapters:::: Eagle Racing
Tires::::::Moab XLs/Mashers (depending on conditions)
Up Mounts::G-MADE
Links::::::RC4WD stainless steel
Rod ends:::TRAXXAS (upgrade soon)
ESCs:::::::2x CC Sidewinders
Motors:::::Front:40t Eagle Racing, Rear: 40t Atlas Rock Climber /RCP Mounts/8t pinions
Batteries::2x 1500mah 11.1v or knuckle C's when needed
Servos::::Towerpro MG996R front and 995 HXT rear :

( Still doing lots of testing with the steering setups , so far as you can see in the photos I've had a difficult time getting used to the TT Aggressor and since I am not competing I might even change it back to a stock setup up front )
...

The Hauler body is still a mystery (maker wise) ...also its hardly practical but as I mentioned before I am not competing so I am also going for some unique looks on this rig!!!
Body mounting options are pretty limited though any ideas??

looks good, i would say put in front of the axle back on it, i have found it will turn better.
and on the back for body mounts you could do this. on the front i dont know with how tall is, and the body would move if the front and back were mounted this way

The camera angle was slightly to the left so it looks less steep than what it is :-P
its the same wall as in this picture

On wetter days the Moabs have no chance (at least with this setup)

Default Got A New Body

Seriously ...I was not %100 happy with that Hauler (love that body but I'll have to use it in another build time...)

So I picked up this Carson Hot Rod (pretty unique too I guess and might just fit better)

Need some opinions here pls , Hauler or Rod?

Also fixed one issue I was having with The Agressor here

flipping the alum/carb steering rod in order to be able to use a longer link (I think its from the stock TLT kit) just gives more room to the whole system ,I found it to be very cramped together (that was one problem)

Maybe this has been done b4 (not sure) but I recommend it ,it works well and it added a few degrees of steer overall

few more tequilas and am i upside down and hazing out or did i just edit this photo??? cant remember the past is all a blur (as it should be)

That body is awesome! If I remember right, it's a Bolink product, from the late 80s/early 90s. It was designed to fit a pan car type chassis, that had been modified (tandem axles) to be a semi truck. They also sold a trailer for the truck, on which other RC pan cars, could be loaded, like a Nascar hauler, but it was a flat bed.

That Agressor steering kit really isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm kind of surprised because TTR's other products are really nice, but then again, I'm pretty sure the Agressor kit was designed for a race chassis, in which the lower links would be using the bottom hole on the axle, not the top.

What steering knuckles are those in your pictures?

They look quite beefy and wondering how they perform?

He's using JP Customs knuckles...uber nice

They're scalloped to run sub-c knuckle packs directly on them...

Thanks much for that information. I realized after I posted that the answer was actually in the first post. Duh!!! Of course being older I also now suffering from MBS (Multiple Birthday Syndrome).

Anyway, I went and ordered two sets, one for stock axles and one for the ThunderTech axles. Now all I need is to have them in hand. wait... wait... wait...

Thanks again for the reply,

Carl
