| esp 3 racing chassis and suspension???
I am new to the crawling scene. I got a losi mrc for my son to play with and he loves it. I like the look of the bigger crawlers. I was able to find this clod package with this esp 3 racing chassis and suspension and was wondering if it is a good starter for crawling or should I keep looking. Thanks for any advice you have to offer. |

If you are wanting a super crawler a clod is a good place to start. As far as the Clodzilla 3 chassis I can not tell you much about it. I have a Clodzilla 4 on order but I am going touse it as a basher/race clod. You may want to look on rcmt as they are more geared towards monster trucks and not crawlers.

I bought a clodzilla 4 and i hated it. the fit and finish was terrible the screws wanted to strip. I dont know if i got a bad one or what but i scrapped it and built my own. For $300 you get about $20 of aluminum and some shotty metal work that i would never knowingly pay for. Like i say (and esp has been around for a while, they must have done something right) mabyee i got a bad example. But i will never buy from esp agian.

I have had quite a few ESP clods. And as said they are far from being a top notch chassis. They have been around for quite some time and back in the day they were the shit. There was no other chassis that was manufactured to be for racer/crawler/basher. All stamped alum chassis. Get you a complete screw kit for it because there is no lock nuts with it and everytime you take it out something works loose. Or get a case of locktight. You will need it. Thay do have some potential though. Especially the clodzilla4. You can check out like mentioned rcmt and clod talk has some esp builds there. Good luck and beat it like it slept with your ol lady. |

Not sure if linking to other forums is allowed here, but just do a search in Yahoo for "RCMT". Shows right up.

Just want to throw my 2 cents out there too. I bought a ESP Clodzilla IV kit and was NOT impressed at all. I threw out all the screws because they striped out with in seconds. The chassis was missing the pre-drilled holes in some areas, and no holes in others! ( yes, I took pictures and I think I posted them here at one point) That kit is a rip off, and I wish I had bought a stick, NN, or anything else at the time other than ESP. Good luck!! |
