| Wild Dagger crawler.
I know this is not the best thing to use but think of making a scaler or something with it.No other use right now.Waiting for shocks and adjustable motor mounts and motors! Then it should be running.:-P Lockout for the control arms! The lockout! |

WOW! I haven't seen a Wild Dagger build in a LOOOOOONG time. If I remember correctly, the dogbones just aren't up to the task or you can't gear it low enough to really crawl? Something.. But I hope you succeed.

Yes dogbones don't last but there's a mod to use MT2 ones. And the gearing will be sorted with adjustable motor mounts and smaller pinions. Can get it down to round 28:1 so just going to run 85T or so motors and see how it goes.I don't expect it to come close to my Axial but might make it a scaler/trail rider!

AH the dagger, I used one as my crawler way back before the tlt was the standard. Basically it was the best way to get a 4wd truck that wasn't a clod. They are actually quite capable rigs. I gave mine to my friend for x-mas because I have too many trucks and he has loved it. Here's a link to an old video with the dagger in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VymoK...e=channel_page It's the jeep bodied rig. It still has the stock chassis but if you flip the A arms you can stretch the wheelbase a bit. You must put bushings on the outside of the tranny case where the dogbone cups are to take up the slack. That truck has been running like that for over 3 years now with no major faliures, even the dogbones have held. They may be aftermarket I'm not sure because I got it used. Good luck with the project and keep us updated. |

Ha I kind went away for a while. Anyway for motors they are stock tamiya silver cans with stock gearing. The electronics were sealed in a waterproof container and we would run 2 or 3 pack in a row through it with no problems. Now keep in mind that we mostly do trail running and not all out rock crawling with that rig.
