| Long Pinions?
Im building my first crawler and have 55t motors with adjustable motor mounts and 6tooth pinions. Do I need to use long pinions ?

Yes you will need the long pinions since you are using the adjustable motor mount it is a little thick and moves the motor out so you need the long pinion to make up for that.

i use standard pinions and never have had a problem.

You can always move the pinion out on the motor shaft.

If you already have standard pinions, try them 1st. We've never had an issue using standard pinions with our adjustable mounts. I know other brands are much thicker though. If you're buying new anyway, getting the longer ones will ensure they'll work with just about any combination. |

agreed, i use CPE mounts and standard pinions.
