Default The Hump Crawler Build

First off, hello everyone. This is my first major post after lurking in the forums for almost a month now. My experience on the subject in the forums is nil. Yeah I'm a noob at crawling ;) I have 2 RC builds: Hump E-Revo (http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=441414) and my closet queen Drifter (http://photo-imprints.smugmug.com/gallery/5358081_ASFmP) which I've built over the past 7 months and I'm currently building a Super-class clod crawler.

For this build, I've already gotten the ff. parts:
- Stock Clod Axles
- Axial Rockster Narrow Bead-lock Wheels
- 40 Series Moab XLs Tires

I'm waiting on Chris's Dorkstar Chassis which should hopefully arrive soon (http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1234668020).

As for the following which have not been done yet, advices/feedback/recommendations/information will be very well appreciated:

- The links will be based on all thread, brake tubing and revo rod ends to achieve a 17-18" WB
- Shocks will be Traxxas Big Bores (not sure if i should get the long ones. anyone?). I'll be running it drooped
- I'll be strengthening the stock axles w/ Alum Tubes, Alum Knuckles and TTR CVD's
- For steering I will be using CPE's BTA Kit for both Front and Rear
- Electronics will be decided after I've built it as a roller. (I've got a MM ESC and might purchase another one later)

I posted up a WTB ad (http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164746) in the classifieds section for the ff. parts so if any of ye clod owners have anything lying around or any discounts available, you have a buyer here ;)
- Clod Integy Tubes
- Clod Alum Axle (for Integy tubes) JPCustoms or Hot Racing
- TTR CVD's
- Adjustable Upper 4-link mount
- CPE-BTA1: Clodbuster BTA Steering Kit
- Clod axle adapters for 17mm wheels
- Traxxas Big Bore Shocks (Not sure which one yet)

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read through this, and I hope to post more updates as more parts come in. All the help ( and support ) I can get would be welcome.

Hey Chris! If you're reading this, thanks for building the Chassis for me. I almost went for a Stealth Chassis until I saw what you were making ;)

Nice start to the build. I am working on a TCS NN build right now. I have always like the Dorkstar supers. Might have to go the Dorkstar route someday.

Since I plan on running 4WS, would it be a good idea to run BTA steering on the rear too? I understand that it's good to run it in the front, but not sure if it's worth it to run BTA on the rears.

After I tought about this, if you run the normal Clod steering in the rear it would automatically be 'behind the axle' steering. hehe :-P

Seriously, that is a relavent question and I am not sure of the answer. My only thought would be that as the chassis gets longer you might want to protect the steering mechanism by putting it in front of the rear axle.

If you flip the rear axle then it'd be a good idea to get a bta.
