Default Hot racing 12mm to 17mm adapter/widener

Does anyone know how much width (to each side) these HR adapters add:

I'm looking for a 12mm to 17mm adapter that adds about 1/2" to each side.

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, I think those add aprox 1" to each side....2" overall. I ended up using a set of 12mm-14mm 1" solid CPE adapters, machined off the 14mm end, milled them to 17mm and cut down the overall length to .75". Just wide enough to keep the tires from rubbing the lower links.

Damn. Yeah, 1" is way too much. Not sure why everyone makes adapters that widen so much. May have to go the custom route like you did. Thanks for the reply!

For some unexplained reason I think the majority of adapters are left overs or throw-backs to the bygone days of monster trucks and bashers when being wide was a 'kewl' thing.

I had to modify my own:

My 23mm hexes were too narrow. The tires are rubbing on the ESC boxes and the body. I searched ebay and online looking for offset 23mm hubs to fit directly over the TTR CVD's and didn't find anything I liked. So after some thought I decided to modify the ones I already had that I wasn't going to use.

This is the stock plastic TTR hub with the 23mm adapter hex. It is too wide for my taste and I hate the idea of the plastic hex / hub:

In my opinion the plastic hub is the weak link. So in order to use the solid aluminum hex with a 3mm drive pin, I have to modify them myself.

Drilled with a 3mm bit for the drive pin and also drilled 8mm for the CVD hub.

Check RC4WD, they have adapters that go right on the stock spline and add no width. they are available in multiple sizes. 14mm 17mm 23mm etc.
