Well I'll start by tellin you all the real goodies are in the works...but this thread will show what I'm doing as I do it and update the stuff I've been working on.

I'd like to start with huge props to Grizz and others involved to make the Mini Clod conversion kit...great job guys! These guys are BEEF and well thought out.

What I've got now is the axles, some Integy pro hand wound 45T's, Losi shocks, CFX side plates, custom links, and a SS skid narrowed to a hair over 2". The wheels/tires pictured are not for this rig...just for pics. This rig will sport AX Snipers and some new large diameter rubber. I'll post updates as I make progress and make/get more parts

Did I hear new clod gearboxes? Not sure about the mini part but I'm in on a super"thumbsup"

Looks good Don. Did you need to bend those uppers for clearance...or was it just to keep the rod end angle less severe?

Yeah...pretty sure you'll need the larger shoes on this one :)

I bent them to clear my shock bolts :ror:

Yeah, I think we'll first run it on some Chizels and go from there. I've got something special for helping snag points and ground clearance on the cases "thumbsup"

No idea what you're talkin bout CD  "thumbsup"

Wow Don, that is really a nice build and a great choice in the chassis.

Did you clock the axles to help clear the lower links? For me using the narrow chassis, like 2", has been troublesome in getting the motors to clear the links.

Sure did, I don't hit any links when cycling my suspension "thumbsup"

Thanks "thumbsup"

I'm thinking the gearboxes would be great on a super.Motors look like they would be up out of the way. :-P

Thanks buddy, I don't know yet, feels nice. The suspension should cycle much better though once I incorporate my new adjustable upper link mount

Monster props to Jarod at jpcustomrcs.com!!!! I got ahold of Jarod Friday evening desperate for parts to move forward on mockup of this build so I can wrap up some of the new goodies for Clod axles that we are working on. We got off the phone Friday evening and I had parts at my door at 10AM this morning

Offroader5 04-13-2009 01:22 PM

Oh yes.....the tires definitely make the difference

quickster47 04-13-2009 05:11 PM

Gotta agree with the rest of the guys, the tires sure improve the looks. And that chassis is really nice looking with the MiniClod set up.
