Few pics of Alf, before I rebuild it again.
 

Me and Heavy did some crawling at GR today and I found a bunch of stuff that I need to change, but I thought I'd be a good guy and post a few pics of the current set-up first.

Notice, went to a behind the axle stearing set-up. Also lowered the batterys.

It runs lathe motors on 9t's and a full dig set-up now. The body posts on the front are left over from GR, I was just to lazy to take them off so now they stab people in the leg :lol:

So that leaves the current set-up as follows:
5945mg front servo-behind the axle stearing
5645mg rear servo- regular stearing
Lathe motors with Clod mod racing adjustable motor mounts for 9t's
Dual Roosters
Custom GP3300 3 cells split pack
Custom high clearance, no articulation, chassie.
Giant tracs on Cow rims

What I want to go to:
Dual quarter scales (CS-80's)-I'd like to keep my behind the axle stearing
3 cells under the left front and right rear knucles (keeping it balanced with the quarter scales)
Aluminum nucles and Thundertech CVD's
Moabs on Cheyenne's with Benders adapters (now more cow rims ;-) )

ya just what i was thinkin WTF... does the chassie act like a torsion bar?

It used to, but I've sence went to a rigid set-up. I have a total of $30 bucks in it, and I can beat on the thing until the gear cases fall off of it before I'll break anything.

But the cool part is that it actualy works really well in any of the locations I've tried it and I have a solid 6 1/2" of belly clearance all the way up to the ends of the gear cases (how many people can say they have that break over clearance? :lol: ).

Don't believe me? Just ask any of the 19 or so people that saw it at GR ;-)

I can vouch for the old turd it takes a beating and its solid aluminum rod so It DOES NOT FLEX at all.You hear that and think that is bad but this thing can freakin crawl now that it doesnt have stock hpi servo's on it. :flipoff:

My stick also has 6.5" center ground clearance with stock LSTs...

what do you mean tho when you say no articulation? just a solid mass of clod? lol

cool vid ... nice thumb! so how does it perform on tight corners, specially with no articulation?

I too am confused about the whole NON-ARTICULATING part? I thought you wanted articulation for a crawler? :???:

I don't understand how turning radius would be affected by not having articulation?

I'm still working on the stearing, the 5945/5645mb combo just wasn't enough, so I'll be going to quarter scales on 7.2volts. It works amazingly well on Heavy's rig, so I'm hoping it will work even better on mine with the dig stear ;-)
