Default Help - Wheel falling off!

Help - Comp'd today with my super and basically couldn't get through two gates without one front wheel falling off.

I'm using stock half axle shafts with integy 17mm adapters and barrell nuts. The front right seems to back out as soon as I get into any kind of bind! :-(

If the right wheel is locked up and the left can spin it basiclly just undoes the nut in about 2 seconds...

I cranked the thing as hard as I could used blue threadlock overnight but no good...

What am I doing very wrong!

check your hexes and adaptors for cracks. Mine does the same thing on my ttr cvd's. But only when I crack and adaptor and it stripped out the hex a little.

Just an idea instead of threadlock you can use teflon tape, sometime it works,,

hey Chris...are the splines stripped out on the 12mm hex? This had to be soooo frustrating for you yesterday!! How many threads are you getting on the barrel nuts?

I can't even think of how this could be possible unless your axle was spinninh inside your wheel somehow.

What lockers are you running?

Killed me no end yesterday - I put quite a bit of time and effort into all the mods etc with the BTA, servo mounts, links, tires, dig setup and delrin skid to then have a wheel fall off every 15 seconds....

I think I pointed out with 3 repairs on each course - lol..

I'd basically come down to the splines this morning too and havn't measured the thread depth - If one is stripped or slipping in a bind it would back out - I will check both those things tonight...

Also might try a spring washer on nut to see if that helps and maybe some new shafts/hexes...

Failing that I think I'm either going to sell the thing. I prefer 2.2 anyway but running super gives more course time at the comps.

The locker is an integy spool gear - I can't see a scenario where that would have an impact...

Arse - As simple as a stripped spline and hex - I stood no chance! :(
