a little bit of progress. chassis on since the raised area between the grooves was too narrow for wheel weights i got creative. 3/16" solid steel disks they weigh 1/4 pound each. the bulge of the tire should cover them not widening or making clearing gates any tougher. i scuffed them and painted them black (no pics) obviously it also moved the weight out too. may not work, but ill give them a shot. |

Hey Corey why not stick the weights inside the stock clod knuckles, they is a ton of room in there. |

got me some 2 stage foams made. the inners are some rock hard jconcepts memories i had, that i narrowed, and then cut down the outside diameter. the outside is super soft 1" craft foam from hobby lobby that i cut into strips. i got them all mounted up in the wheels last night and they came out REALLY good. couldnt be happier especially on my first attempt. for some reason the pic makes everything look crooked and uneven but they are damn near perfect in person. |

got the tires glued up and put them and the weight disk. on the rocks! its really well balanced. a bit heavy though. over 6lbs. the wheel disks alone are 1lb though. could definatly use some 6" tires to clear the rear diff. i cut a slit down the backbone, between the axles, to help flex and it really seemed to help. it also got rid of any unloading or spring back. huge improvement. ill be curious to see how long the backbone lasts after a few comps with the cut. |

Looking good. Like you said, some 6" tires would probably help this rig out by getting those diff cases up higher.. What about filling the clod knuckles with lead/brass and get the weight off the spinning tire? I do like your weight disk though! I haven't had a stock clod knuckle in my shop in a while, can't remember if that will work or not. Edit: Dah, I just saw that Shelby posted the same idea! ...
