If you are going to X brace the shock standoffs, why not do the same for the upper links at the same time? Box it off and make it all solid. I love the design btw. You can really take that idea in many directions. |

I changed a couple of things: -Built an x brace to put the lower links into double shear. -replaced the servo switch with a conector (switch broke) -moved the lower links to change the motor angle (motor was hitting rocks) |

Nice job! That should help with servo protection too. I noticed the servos making some contact with some rocks in the video. Feel any stiffer? |

I don't have a body for it yet, unless I use my 15 or so year old double dare body I think I am going to get the dodge dakota body that parma sells because that is the kind of real truck I have.

Thats really cool So was this project just to see if you could.. Or do you think that there is a significant performance gain from running this type of steering? Obviously you are only running one servo for 4 wheel steering, inversely though, it is like twice the size of standard servos.. I'm impressed though! Whos little yellow mobile is that in the video? Any photos with the lid off? And the last song on your video.. who is that? It sounded just a tad too generic to be Cradle of Filth.. ;) _bR3T7 |

I see upon closer look that it uses 2 x Giant scale servos.. so my previous questions... but more.. ;) And I have to defend all the booty-ghetto-barn fab.. ;) I prefer G-Fab as its call-sign, and it is the essence of this hobby for me. I am not quite as gifted apparently as some people, but I make all my stuff myself with sh!tty tools and poor lighting... But the bottom line is that my vehicles are straight Gangsta!! G-Fab!! (and yes I know EeePee's original comment was most likely a joke, as is mine!:P) Nah man, Pot-heads come up with crazy ideas all the time, they just usually lack the ambition to get it done.. sort of like me.. but I don't smoke pot.. I just don't have any money! :P _bR3T7 Last edited by clodbrett; 04-01-2006 at 10:22 PM. |

Peel some of the decals off that thing and lose the "roll" bar and that would be a cool body! |

Was I ever not drinking beer? Yeah that truck has really shown me it has some potential. The X braces are definately doing what they should. The steering works, there's no question about that. Skidplate looks like poop though. And that body is awesome. Real life crunching sounds! |

The water was not deep enough to get to reach batteries. I really don't know what will happen if the batteries go under. I am sure it is not good for them, but I bet they will not be affected. I am not going to test that theory just for the sake of testing though. The body I am using came with my Double Dare that I recieved back in the 80's. The stickers are from the racing products that I used for my carpet rc 10 and rc10l cars. I still am going to buy the parma Dakota body from Tower when I put in my next order. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDA47&P=7 | |
