Default Clod Rollin' Tuber

Picked up this chassis on ebay. Looks to be homemade but it's super light. I reworked the upper links to fit where the shocks mount and rebuilt the axles with fresh gears. This one might be a candidate for a droop suspension setup. As it is now, when you pickup the truck the axles don't fall more than 1/2" cause where I have the shocks mounted.

Planning on putting the Mamba Max ESC with dual brushed Integy 55t and 6t pinions. Plenty of space for all the electronics to be hid in the lowest part of the chassis.

Planning on painted lexan panels or some thin aluminum panels. Some aluminum steering knuckles. Those proline rims are getting painted as well. Nothing binds while flexing. Well, just figured I would post it up. I'm stoked. Let me know what you think.

17.5" Wheelbase
14.0" Width
4.0" belly clearance
70-80 deg of flex

Got the Airtronics Rock Crusher servo in. Wired up the motors parallel for the Mamba Max. My soldering skills are improving (once I got the correct solder and read a bit). I really like the MM with two brushed 55t's. Still need to setup the MM for better control and limit the shock travel. Might need to rise it up a bit to get some more belly clearance. Any tips here?

Still have to lock out the rear or I could put another servo back there since I'm running the koolflight BEC. Haven't decided yet.
Waiting on the steering knuckles and a compact battery.

I havent decided between thin alumnium panels, a cut up body or thin plexiglass for the bodywork.

Everything below is for mock up. Wires everywhere but it's runnin' now.

Default Metal working skills suck

Ok, so I jacked with some 26gauge steel and came out with the contraption below. I wanted to do one piece for each side but that's not going to happen due to the chassis geometry. The lower part of the chassis makes it look too bulkly with the skin all the way down. My metal working skills suck.

So, Just using the body that came with the chassis for now. F-350, even though a Ford is a terrible choice for a body or for that matter a real truck. Ha.

In the process of re-painting the Proline Cheyenne's . Having issues with one of the pictures below.

I think with the metal your just trying to do to much with one peice.
I'm new at metal working too so thats mostly just me throwing out some B.S.

Your right, I figured the metal would be more flexable.
Here are some pictures with the Mamba Max installed. Just some quick runs to see what binds. I jammed all the elecs in there. I really like how smooth the MM is. It has plenty of power too with that 7 cell nimh. Battery placement was orginal. Figured I would not mount it there but it works good.
Striped (steelwool pads) the cheyenne's and painted the rings red and blue. Figure I could swap' em out sometime. Plus, when you look at one side of the truck all you can see is one color, ie inside of one side and outside of others.

Chassis is great but the belly is too low to the ground. Tackles some stuff my stick chassis struggles with. I'm not a seasoned driver by anymeans, so don't think im bashing the stick, that thing is great. Anyways, Here are some pictures, look blurry, doh.

Default Clod Rollin' Tuber (drop back and punt)

Figured I would try some plexi-glass on this build. A lighter helped with the bending of plexi-glass. I still have to do the front fender wells and think of something for the lower part of the chassis. Working better than I thought. Probably going with a black on the panels and zip ties for mounting.

Mock up for now. Finished up the panels. Test fit one last time, sand, paint, and apply.

Default Clod Rollin' Tuber Dun for Now

After a few hours of cutting, fitting, cutting and cussing, I've got a paneled' rig. Not diggin' the ziptie method of attachment but I'm good for now. Here are some pictures. First time to do something like this. I think I have the right idea but patience is not best trait.

Those fenders were tricky.

Ran out of zipties, still have the driver's side lower panels to put on.

Thats a pretty sweet rig you have there. I dont think the zipties are too noticable, the panels really help the look of the chassis.

What link mounts are you using? I have been looking for something like that for mine.
