Why did you decide on the 2 motor axles? How are you going to wire up 4 motors?

Are you going to series 2 motors together on each axle, then parallel each axle to the ESC?

This is my list of parts for a super newb truck, and it is gonna put a huge hole in my walet, if you need parts i suggest www.rc4wd.com

2 aluminum 2motor gear boxes* Stock plastic works fine
2 sets of aluminum gears* Stock gears work fine
4 9 tooth pinion gears* Only need 2
4 55t integrity lathe motors* Only need 2
4 wrap around heat sinks* Motors don't get very warm in crawling
2 long steel axles
2 short steel axles
2 sets of aluminum axles and aluminum steering knuckles* Nice but not a necessity
1 aluminum steering kit
rock bull 2 special edition* NN works much better
2 aluminum bumpers* Not needed in crawling
2 chrome skid plates* Decrease ground clearance
1 set of extra long travel piggy shocks* Any 4 inch shock will work fine
1 high torque Hitech servo* Get 2 if you want rear steer
1 set of pro line moab tires* Need 2 sets
1 set of tire foams* Need 2 sets
1 set of bead locks* Need 2 sets

(I'm not sure if one Novak electronic speed controler will be enough?)* If it's a Super Rooster, It will be fine.

Impressive list. Most of it isn't neccassary. Do some research and save ALOT of money. Good luck!

I agree. We all want a stong rig but your list is over the hill. Im trying to always find ways to build my rig on a budget. The more I research, its actually more cost effective just to buy a brand new Clodbuster just to get the axles. I might have to do this.

i agree with dez, there is a lot of unneccessary things on your list but if you want to try and do that, be my guest, its your money. A lot of those things also add too much weight, which isn't needed. also on on the servo, i wouldnt go with anything less than the hitec 645. i had some airtronics that were pushing 160 oz of torque and in my opinion that still wasnt enough, so that is why i have 1/4 servos.

also dez is right, the NN is a lot better in my opinion

I'd say build it? if you like it then thats good. If you don't like the way it crawls you can always set it up for speed or something else.
If we all the money to spend.. Well never mind I'm a tight wad and have no money.

But the VS chassis is the best.. haha.. just a little a little one sided over here.

Naturally everyone is going to have an opinion. I can see both sides. Those who think you could save yourself a lot of money and Double J's build whatever you want philosophy. If money and time are not an issue then I have to agree with Double J. If they are then I would say some more thought is called for. Anyway not knowing exactly what your plan is here all I can say is I hope this project works out well for you.

Take a chill pill! It's just a list, and he said he was already considering not getting everything on it.

I say do it if you have the cash. Don't worry, If you don't like it some hater will buy them nice parts from you.

I'm doing a rig like yours too. It's not my first clod but its the I actually build on my own. I bought my esp already show/race fully customized. Older esp fully polished. Shocks and all. The axles are plastic chromed.

I'm 33 years old and I always wanted a customized clod. 15 years ago I couldn't afford it. I just now started checking into it again that I can afford and they don't even sell the kits. But you can now buy the best after market stuff than ever before.

I'm wasting my money on:

jps full axles with mounting brakets
jps chasis
jps beadlocks jumbo
swamp dawgs jumbo
zielkie gravedigger custom painted body
novak super duty esc
cirrus cs704 2ea
10t pinions
17t triniity monster max

So you aren't the only guy here blowing cash bro.

My six year old son and I are going to have fun.

this is the way I see it, I was going to buy a mitsubishi evo 8 for 32k. it runs and performs like no other car I driven.

But it looks like ****.

I instead purchased a 2002 hatchback corvette for the same amount. it doesn't handle as good on the turnes, but it has more balls and it looks better. I got it for 27k out the door.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its no good. What doesn't work for may work for someone else.

You have a good point SoulFly3. I Say build it. Lets see what a high End Machine looks like. Poisen Spyder did a 1:1 build up. Claimed worth of over $100K. Build it and Sell it to someown for about $3k. Just post some pics on the build.

I love it how people come on here sayin one chassis is better than another without any proof to back it up. If you have proof that the NN or any other chassis is better than what the guy *wants* step up and tell him why.
