Default Finally done making parts for my clod

Well I started my first Clod crawler about a Year ago and today I finally finished my last part for my clod crawler. All these parts you see here were made in my spare time on the weekends. I’m guessing I have around 150 hours into designing in solid works and cnc programming with Mastercam and about another 150 hours into machining all the parts on the weekends at work, got to love fringe benefits of work. I will keep you guys posted on the build. And don’t think that this crawler is Just a Bling Crawler that is going to sit on the shelf I plan to use it to its full potential. Let me know what you guys think

Default Gear cases together

Here is a close up of the gear case assembled. For the axle tubes I wanted them to look different so I went for the Rockwell look, let me tell you it was a lot more work but I like how they came out. The axles have bearings thru-out and even on the steering knuckles. I also went over kill on the locker. Yes I know other guys make the same locker but I went and did a total interlocking design with zero play so that you don't strip your plastic gear. I also built a custom super low profile delrin skid plate for the bottom of the gear case which I am only loosing about 1/16 of clearance. I will post more as the project comes along.

The skid is sweet. You should consider making them for sale! I'd buy a couple!
