Thumbs up My Playground

It may not be Colorado.... but I think there are enough rocks to burn up a 1 or 2 packs on.... I'd post more action shots but I broke through the epoxy I used to lock the diff. Fixed that problem . This was the first time I had stopped here. Got Wednesday off, so I think I'll spend a little time seeing how far the rocks go!

Good thing for me the water is only tire deep at this point

That's my rig in the lower right hand corner

This is an uphill shot

Default More Mods...

I took some much needed time off work yesterday for some R&R, and decided that it was time to convert Hannibal Lecter into a 4 wheel steer rig. After scoring a NIB TQ3 and reciever for $16.00, I added a heavy duty toggle switch from Radio Shack. That cost me less than $4.00, but it is not self-centering. I am looking into getting a DPDT momentary on-off-momentary on switch somewhere else since I couldn't modify it like the free TQ3 post.

Then I raided my poor EMAXX for its steering servo, fabbed up a mount, and away we go. Let me tell you, if you don't have 4 wheel steering and you've locked your diffs you are missing out on the fun. It turns so tight now and I found I was able to get it into situations at "Bender" (see photos above) that I wasn't able to before.

I ordered some 9t pinions, they should be in by Friday. Now I need to concentrate on a wheel and tire combo. He's coming together nice and I hope to have it ready for comps soon. Thanks for checking in!!

None yet, I don't have a digital video camera. I'll post some if I get a change to hook up with the TSC guys in August. They tend to videotape at the comps so I might find a way into a clip or two.
