Default I gots me a CLOD

Thanks to SR5Dave and his constant pounding into my head that I need a clod, he found the link on ebay to this one in the pics.. so I had to buy it. $183 later, it was mine... Already got an ESC and 4 wheel steer, comes RTR.. Cant beat the price.. I will have to put a different body on it.. can't be having that chevy stuff on there But its a start...

The first thing you will notice when you push the limits of the stock chassis is the complete lack of clearance... the steering arms will hit the chassis; so dont take those rubber tubes out from the shocks, but you may be able to trim them a little. Also the plastic deals that go from the gear case to lower control arm ALWAYS snap on hard impacts, I made some from metal; took about 10 minutes.

Tighten up your steering a bit via the nut on top of the servo saver on the axle, or else you wont turn unless you're like at full speed. Full ball bearings are pretty cool, and cheap. Help your batteries last a bit longer, they also give less and gears don't fail as easily (in my experiences).

I could keep ranting on and on but I'll wait until you ask a question.

One more thing, cheap batteries: Http://www.amondotech.com I had a GREAT experience with them, I ordered late wensday and they came in this morning with a repeated confirmation emails of recieving my order, sent to FedEx and then out for delievery.....

Is it weird delievering your own packages? That'd seem odd to me

Actually... I have any packages that are to be delivered to me, held at the station, and I just sign for them at the station and pick them up, since I work there every day Its a good thing they use fed ex, so I know my batteries will get there on time :-D

I'm glad to see you got a Clod instead of a driveshaft truck (thanks SR5Dave for hounding). It may not be as capable out of the box but with some work they cant be beat. I love all of mine and wouldn't trade em for anything. Hope to see pics as it progresses.

Sure; once you change out the tranny, transfer case, axles, stock cage; and do something out the fiberglass body that shatters on impact, you've got one smokin rig!!!

I got the truck today.. already took one shock off each corner.. Charged up one battery, only to find that I don't have any AA's for the controller, that are charged at the moment.. So Ive got 4 AA's on the charger now, and it should be finished up later tonight.. and I'll take it for a spin...
