Asking in the electronics or clod section would be best. Thanks.

Good job Dez!

Kevin does a great job of explaining the build in this very thread, not 25 posts ago.

The 55t motor gives you just about the right torque and wheels speed.

I think the 65t w/ 7 or 8 cells is a little better. But that's just my opinion.

And YES it will make a HUGE difference it your crawlers ability. Check the vendors section or for sale forum here on RCC for lathe motors.

Good luck and welcome the RCC

The 65 turns on 7-8 cells gives you the same power as the 55t on 6 cells, but with longer runtimes and a bit more weight.

I read the link about making your own links, but I have a question about what size tap and screws to use when using the Traxxas T Maxx rod ends (part # TRX2742)? And would it be better to use the long, or short rod ends?

Thanks in advance.

That 6-32 rod size is correct to slide the threaded rod through the tube, just like the how-to describes.

If you want to thread the 6-32 rod into the tube, go to www.mcmaster.com and search for P/N 89965K44. I also wouldn't recommend cutting threaded rod for this method, but use mcmaster P/N 91375A153. This method takes longer than the one explained, but the links are lighter when completed. We've had no issues with any breakage to date so the choice is yours as to how to assemble your links.

The link to wire the EVX for a single battery is borked. There's a debate on another forum about doing just that ... where'd it go?

ok so i hate the look of those huge clod size wheels with 1/10th scale body how hard is it to convert to 2.2 wheels on clod axels and does it work worth a crap with that size tire on it

or will these work?
$25.00 - Pair
w/Foams Swamp Dawgs
Fits: T/E-Maxx™, Savage, Dominator

Height: 5.75"
Width: 3.0"
Diameter: 3.2"

these have bigger wheels but same height but not as wide as clod tires

could you do crawling without modifieing the heck out of a clod?
i mean leave it stock? suspension wise and drivetrain?
also what pitch are the gears standard? 32p?
thank you.

A stock clodbuster CANNOT crawl. Firstly, open differentials mean that as soon as one wheel loses traction, all power will go to that wheel and forward movement will stop. Also, the stock chassis and suspension mean that the truck is top-heavy (liable to roll over), and has almost no suspension travel (articulation).

Cheers 8-)

$5.06 a piece. Plenty of mounting holes. Thick 4mm aluminum with a nice anodized finish.
