Default KCs New Clod "Pounder"

Hey guys started a new project....another member on rcmt (Ernie-KingKlod) had a custom set of chassis plates cut for a "pounder" style chassis and had an extra set he sold to me...I had 2 clod pounders in the past and I kept jumping in and out of the idea about doing another 1 at sum point....So I picked up a few things and Monday the plates came in. All I need now are electronics...gonna be 4WS and dual castle brushless, probably the SV3s 4600 or 5700. I got a set of Gmade XD piggyback shocks in 103mm for this truck and Clod tire and wheels with CPE wideners (Justins old set from the Gunslinger he never finished building lol). I ordered a nice package from Brett to take care of the links, braces, steering...etc, Gonna start building the shocks and axles this weekend

I got started on the axles...I had 2 pair of axles and I gutted them both out, kept all the good stuff..

The gears from one set of axles where greased up really good with sum thick black grease, but they did have bearings throughout. So I took all the bearings out and other metal pieces and cleaned them off. I had 2 brand new sets of gears in the parts box, so I will use those and keep the others as back ups after I clean all that grease off

After I cleaned everything off I sorted the parts, cleaned out the gearcases and started putting the axles back together....Got tired and stopped so Ill finish it up later tonight.

Then I installed the Level3rc mounts..I also decided not to do 4WS and Im going to use a combination CPE rear lockout brace and link setup...its the same setup I used on my first clod pounder and it proved to be very strong.

Then got the knuckles installed with bearings and brand new stub shafts. I will have to do a little more work with the dremel but they feel good. Gonna work on the shocks next

Gonna start tearing it back down so I can regrease the gears and replace sum screws and nuts. Also need to paint or powdercoat it. Then I can add the velcro for the body.

Ok since its slow I mocked up the Clod to see how everything would sit before I tore it all down to do the final build...Got this body from Tom(TXT-2.0), thanks again..Its not the body that I will use on this chassis but I will run it as a back up..Going back to 4WS and painting the chassis..Here are a few pics as it sits now...

Ok small update....few changes to the plan as other trucks and bodies have been shifted around...

The Clod is still going out for powdercoating but a different color now...Its getting a new body too..also put these Gmade shocks on the new TXT Pounder and ordered a softer set of Gmades for this truck. This truck will run the Castle 5700 SV2s that were in the Diablo, and the TXT wheels and Rumbles.. Both trucks are getting ready for the upcoming MT racing series here and for the No Limit World Finals this year at Diggers Dungeon...

Finally decided on a color lol...kept it simple and went with black. I sent the chassis off this weekend along with Kong shocks so hopefully ill have those back by this weekend or next week. Gonna heat shrink the links...I have 3 Bigfoot bodies I can use on this chassis too..
