My first clod! (Updated)

I just finished it up last night and finally got to try it out. There are a few obvious things I need to fix up such as the rear wheels need a correct lenth link to get the wheels tracking straight and I am also going to find some narrower tires as well as the stockers rub on my links when turning. Other then that, she's done! No name for this project. LMK what you think, thanks.

Body is not mounted yet either.

Nice start. Looks real good. It will crawl 100% better with new shoes.

4mods 09-01-2006 08:53 PM

thanks guys and ya, I fully agree about the tires.

Here is a rundown on the parts.
Locked clod axles
RC guy lower links
CF upper links
Random shocks (don't know)
Duratrax 2 channel reciever
EVX modded esc
Stock clod motors
8t pinions w/ rc guy motor mounts
Stocker wheels

I'll be heading out with the guys on sunday and I'll make up another vid like I did before as we all like to see these things move. thanks again guys.

I changed my mind on having the link coming from the servo a short one and have put in a long, just seems to be better over all.

Instead of using my lock out plate I just kept the link infront of the gear box and ran a short solid piece to it to lock it out. Turned out good once I got all the spacing correct or close to.

Here is a short vid of our day on sunday. I'm pretty stoked with how my truck runs as this was the first time I've had it out......

Look alot better if you slammed the body down on that chasis like in your pic.

4mods 09-05-2006 03:11 AM

Yeah for sure I totally agree, its was actually only zap strapped on for the day! lol... I didn't want to run it naked. I just haven't had a chance to get to the hobby shop for some body mount posts. Its definitely going to be alot lower then that. thanks.

nice what kinda chassis is it

Its some home made thing that I got off a buddy. Kinda looks like a guitar pic plate, I'm pretty happy with this setup as I was able to somewhat keep up with the heavily modded trucks with the acception of some of the vertical climbs.

Yup, that's the clod motors, get some 55t lathes in there and you'll beat 'em! :)

Cheers 8)

4mods 09-05-2006 03:32 PM

Actually power was fine I had more then enough, I just need to get some better tires.

andrewmp6 09-05-2006 08:26 PM

55t lathes a 8 or 9 tooth gear better tires and weight the rims it will climb up anything

I cut tons out of those treads I had and they work alot better now. Drove in over and out (the truck slid down to the middle before it went up). I also changed my body as I thought about it and I wanna see the Toyota around for a bit. enjoy.

Nice 8-)

I've changed a few things.
Changed my links back to my shocks are no longer at a angle, I liked them on a angle but I was getting some serious interferance coming from the motors when the links were close.
Finally got the body mounted, yeah no more zip straps.
Cut out a bit more of the tires and they are working great for chevrons.
Here is a new picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/IBT/243_4325.jpg

And a short clip of it in action:

mine if the first truck up the climb before I had the body mounted correctly.
