So on to my most anticipated change. I am trying the Mamba Maxx to get the advantage of drag brakes. I have only tested it goind down stairs, but it seems to work great. The rig just stops when I let up on the throttle. I can just creep over the edges. I will do a full writeup in the electronics section after I some testing done on the rocks. I will say that setup and programming the unit is very easy.

One question. What do I do with the white wire? It is only used for the brushless set up, and I am running latthe motors. I figure I shoud leave it in case I go brushless.

Now for the new look. As I mentioned, I've been bored here cooped up inside because of the snow, so I setup a new body. I think it came out pretty good, but it needs scratches. If this snow ever melts I will get a chance to scrape it up.

i finally fixed a small problem that's bugged me from day one. i made a brace to prevent the servo mount from developing slop. It is a piece of bicyle spoke, with ring terminals soldered on the ends. We'll see how it holds up. One of those little details that is really a must on any clod. The only slop left in the steering is the twisting of the plastic axle tube.

Here are some action shots. Finaly got out to test the new setup, the snow has finally given up a bit of the rocks.

The Mamba Max ESC makes a major difference. The brake effect makes downhill sections much more controlled. Notice the way the rig can just hang in place on the steep descents. With no brakes, downhills were dangerous, and cost me gates in the comps. Brakes are another must have. The mamba Max is easy to program and gives a great smooth throttle feel. Soon people will be showing up at comps with their laptops

Thanks for the compliment.

No wideners on the Moabs, the offset keeps them from rubbing. I am using the adapters from Bender Customs. With the zero offset maximizers I run, I use the 3/4" wideners/adapters from RC4WD.
