I found a classic Clodbuster locally for $100 (or best offer) - no radio/receiver/battery, looks like the end of one of the front control arms is broken, but it apparently runs and comes with a few spare parts. It's set up as a 4x4x4 (4-link 4x4? I know virtually nothing about Clodbusters and not much more about RC or crawling - yet!) Is it worth it? |

Most likely, yes. Especially if it has wheels/tires/body included. Post a pic if you have one. 4x4x4 simply means 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer. If you plan to keep it stock, spare parts are readily available and inexpensive. |

Here's what I got from the listing: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think I can get a cheap FlySky 2.4 GHz transmitter/receiver for around $30-40 (unless there are other better ideas); I don't need anything competition-ready, I just need a second truck to satisfy my kids and me (I fried the electronics in the toy-grade RC trucks I got 'em for Christmas and my Redcat RS10 gets spread a little thin with 3 of us and only one crawler!) |

So I managed to get the Clodbuster for $80, and the very generous (ex-)owner threw in a Futaba 3PJ digital transmitter *and* an Evader EXT2 (no battery or receiver, fried motor) ![]() Haven't had time to sift through the box but I can't wait to start piecing this stuff together! |

Parts are trickling in; radio (FLYSky GT3C, decided it wasn't worth upgrading the 3PJ TO 2.4 and the FM receivers are $$$) and knuckle should be in this week. I've already had a request to paint it pink with yellow flames; 5-year-olds have terrible taste in colors ![]() I'm assuming that even though it won't do much, it'll be able to crawl over something in stock form. Any ideas for tweaking the stock setup for crawling? |

| ![]() Remove one shock per corner. Also, remove the black rubber bumpstop from the shock shaft. That makes a world of difference. Also, locking the rear diff helped. I left the front open so it would still half way steer. lol. I just used hot glue on my rear diff. But I know they make a kit now. |
