5 year break: info hungry

As someone who is coming back to RCcrawling after a 5 year break a lot of these threads seem quite old, especially the stickies. I've still got a pair of integy 55 turn motors, NIMH batteries and a Novak Super Rooster controller on clod axles with a Gecko chasis and an old school EX10(good at the time) controller. where do you recommend I should (re)start?

If it were me I'd charge the batteries and drive that bad boy! Post some pics of it. :D

Keep everything but the batteries. Get a Lipo cutoff, wire it to the super rooster and run it with Lipo batteries. The motors are still good, the chassis is great and that esc is still much desired. A Lipo cutoff is way cheaper than getting a new controller. Upgrading to a better 2.4ghz radio is always a good idea too. Not required tho.....
You gotta post some pics of it! I haven't seen a gecko chassis in many many moons!
