Default 2013 Mini Clod "Crawler Innovations" Shelf Rig

Got gang of parts in bins and boxes from Eddie at Crawler Innovations. He said make 3-4 rigs out of all these parts. This is not all the parts by any means!

Goal is to make a roller to preserve the nostaliga of the r/c crawler for that time period. Most of these parts are from 2009.

Here is the first rig from the piles.

MiniClod Kit
Quicksand/Grizzly4x4 Miniclod Axle kits
MiniClod lets you run AX10 C-Hubs, Knuckles, lockouts and axle shafts.

Reign Widemouth Chassis (mine I had laying around) but we dug around the parts pile and found another widemouth.

DMG C-10 Truckee Topper

VP Beadlocks

Some 5.65" Cougars I built years ago with Crawler Innovation's Single stage Firm foams.

Some parts are mock up some are final.

Axles.

All plastic gears now.

CPE upper links. Drilled a lower 3rd hole.

Rear axle shafts shaved off to fit in MiniClod kit locker

Looking forward to your mini clod build. I used to own that DMG topper and c10 body very briefly years ago. Glad to see it again.

Thank you for building this rig for posterity Shane. It's amazing what you've done with those parts in only a few weeks. They have been sitting around for years now.

If you have a build thread, pictures, or any links, please post them. I'd like to document as many parts as possible. With the fast movement of the 2.2 Pro comp market, everything shifted and many unique parts were kinda skipped over.

Funny how old school is cool again. My most coveted rig right now is a cherry super clod. I won't even let the little ones run it. I enjoy running it even as bad as it handles!

Nice. I think Harley had it too.

Thanks Eddie. Still some work to do. Having issues with taps talk and uploading more pics.

Eddie had an untouched NN clod super in this lot. Ever'thang new robbed the shocks off It for this build.

I have the mini clod kit also. It be interesting to see how you set up the steering. It was one of the most frustrating aspect of my built until I went with the pimp cane and went with bta steering.

I bet there is a decased spektrum receiver in that toolbox.

Super stoked to see those parts being used. I know it's supposed to be a shelf rig but I would still consider adding castor in case it gets ran. You can clock the tubes if you can't lay the motor down with the chassis setup.

Is that like 50/50 droop sprung?

You've never built it up yet? I'll get back to this rig before too long.

RX is still in there. Lol.
It's all in mockup still. Just wanted to figure out the links/wb right off the bat. I saw where some had re-drilled the tube flanges for clocking but not sure I wanna do that. Tons of motor clearance so I think I can do it with upper link adjustments.

4.25" or so shocks. Springs are just mockup for ride height. It is pretty much a half droop/sprung setup. These shocks are butter smooth so it feels good how it is, right now anyways.

Thanks. I never owned a Mini Clod kit but it's a cool setup.

Got the wheelbase right at 12.5" with 8/32" all thread and revos and worked on the steering a bit. Will get replaced with Ti links.

Used an old RC4WD servo mount I had in my parts bin. Straight tie rod will need to get replaced with a more wavy setup.
Vanquish Zero Ackerman knuckles installed.
This is all mocked up and semi-final.

Around 5.6" mounted up with Crawler Innovations firm single stage foams.
I made them a few years ago and only ran them a few times. They seemed fitting on this rig.

Love it!! Reminds me of my 2.2 clod back when TLT's ruled the growing 2.2 class.

Gotta have a Dig Switch with a tiny Blue Bird servo!!

I prefer the Hitec HS-55. Lol

If this rig gets electronics it will
Probably be a single BR-XL with two Holmes Hobbies 35turns.
But the Manly dig switch is on reserve!
