Default Pimpin' IS easy (build up)

Hey guys, I have been lurking on the site for about 6 months now soaking up information. I finally got some extra money so I have started building me a crawler. I have been big into the 1:1 scene for a few years now and just need something to mess around with when not wheelin

Heres some specs:
17" WB Pimp Cane
Moab XL's with narrowed/star foams
Velocity 6 wheels dyed black
Clod axles
RC4WD wheel adapters
RC4WD all steel steerng frnt/rear
HS-645MG front servo
HS-5645MG rear
Teken Rebel 2
TRX 2215 receiver
Modded TQ3
55T lathes
9t pinion front
8t pinion rear

I have everything except the wheels and motors (waiting on Ebay vendor), and the pimp cane chasis.

Heres some pictures.
Axles:

About what it will look like:

TQ3

Heres my 1:1 if anyone cares...

Why are you running two different pinions?

I had somebody tell me to do that to fix clod stall. Who knows if it works, not the best method either.

Nice stance with that body

Iroks are sick. The 39.5 measures all of 40. Nice build

Lookin good.

As far as 1:1 tires, go for the 39" Krawlers, much better than the iroks....if you have the $$ that is. I've heard pro's and con's about the iroks.

I love my 42's. They grip like crazy. Only thing is they wear super fast on the sharp granit. Crawlers are good if you can afford the reds. But I have been looking at the 40" Maxxis Creepys lately

Welcome to the Pimp Club. I've been hit with both the Cane and the Slap - Loving them both. Keep us updated!

isnt gearing differently going to put a lot of force on the gears since there is a 5 revolution difference of the tires from 9 tooth to 8 tooth?

8 tooth pinion in rear and 9 tooth in front works great i think . you will still get some stall . also will help you turn tighter as the rear will slide a little . i change to thay setup before the T.S.C. comp at FOTO and at the end of the day I was driving the winning RIG .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but not everyone can buy the comp version of the 39in Krawlers. I know they just came out with the Street ones. But they aren't the same compond. I do know that if you run BFG Krawlers in a comp and you win. They pay you.

I've "heard" that you can get the 39's in the street compound and they are still amazing, plus they last longer.
