Default Big Pimpin

Well I ordered everything for this build. Just waiting to get the parts in. Should be anyday now. Now I went all out on the is build. I could have built it alot cheaper, but ha. I want the best of the best. If your going to build it might aswell build it right the first time. Save ya money in the long run. I have done a few things a little different. Not much yet. I'm sure I will change a few more things here and there during the build. But here is what I got.

I'm going for a very low COG and a balanced rig. The front axle and rear alxe should be within oz of each other.

Running Clod axles locked and with bearings of course. Used Lockers instead of JB weld. Didn't feel like messing with it. I'm running one 8 cell Sub-C battery back. 4 cells under each rear axle. Yep I said rear axle. The front axle will be holding up two 5 cell RX packs under each front knuckle. One for each servo. I choose Hitec 5955TG Robot Servos. Bought them from tower just minutes ago. Free shipping and 15 bucks off. Running the crawler store BTA on the front for the steering. The servo's will be pushing a set of Narrowed Proline Velocity wheels with Moab XL's rapped around them. I'm putting my new 40's Rock Sliders on them. Not out yet, So don't ask just yet for them. Running a 18in Pimp Cane with the rear axle flipped for even more clearance for breaking over those pesky leadges. Everything will be ran by a Mamba Maxx and Axiom 55t motors. Thanks to Holmes Hobbies. He also made my battery packs. Running 8 and 9 tooth pinions and RC4WD adjustable motor mounts. I replaced the bearings with Yeah Racing brand Teflon sealed bearings. Also using there axle stays on the rear. I went with a Cadillac Escalade EXT. Not sure on how I'm painting it yet. For Radio gear I snagged a VG6000 of E-Bay for $60 bucks. I'm using a 3003 Servo to shut down the rear motor for front digs. There's not much else I can think of right know. Here are the specs and pic's will start showing up anyday now.

Axles: Clod, locked with bearings
Servos: Hitec 5955TG's 333oz @ 6v
Steering: Front BTA and Rear BTA
Motors: Axiom 55t
Pinions: 8 and 9 tooth
ESC: Two Mamba Maxx
Wheels: 40's Narrowed Velocity
Tires: Moab XL's
Body: Cadillac Escalade EXT
Rok Rings: 40's by Myself
Battery Pack: Two 8 Cell packs. 4 under each Knuckle.
Front Dig Servo: Traxxas 3003
Chassis: Around 18in Pimp Cane with rear axle flipped
Radio Gear: VG6000

2 5 cell RX packs
I get about 4 hours out of my 5 cell 2500mah RX pack.

I think your going to hate the balanced rig. I noticed a bit of differece when I add the rx pack in the rear, seemed like it was alot more truck to pull up over ledges.

Everything else sounds good though. I wish I had went with the Axioms.

Flipped axle axle Pimp Cane, switch activated rear dig, and 18 cells. Sounds like Jarome has a few differant ideas being used on him!

Are you sure that dig will work on a super, cause I can drive my front axle only and it just pulles the rear one with it, and I have 6 tooth pinions. I think that only works on 2.2 clods, just my $.02 Also since you have the channels why not 2 esc's??

Agreed, you're looking at roughly twice the leverage on the axle as what you would have with 2.2 size wheels and tires. You'll need some form of breaking other than the motor and gear reduction.

You guys act like I just got here. I've got it covered guys. Chill. I might run 2 ESC, but when you pay 140 just for one. 28o for an ESC set up. Ouch. But if thats what it takes. I may have to fall back on that. If thats what it takes.

Here is my plan on stopping the rear tires from rolling. I'm just going to do a spoke in the wheels or agaisnt the tire to stop them. I order my servo horn for already. While the servo goes down to turn the motor off it will push the rods into the wheels or tires. Stopping them. I may add a special made inner RoK Ring with ledges on it so the rods can catch easier. Anyway here is a simple drawling od how it will work. Gotta of Paint.

First pic is when the motor is running and the rods are pulled away from the wheels

And here is the pic. Showing the servo shutting the rear motor off and pushing the rods into the tires or wheels.

It should look something like that. I may just use one rod to stop the wheels from rolling.

May try something like this on the front as weel. Front and Rear digs would be sweet. But it may just be easier to do two Mamba Maxx's.

Please link me to info on axle flips or educate me on why & how this is done. Thanks
