I was gluing tires for my nephew's Stampede last night and decided to throw them on the Clod to check the overall width. Measures 12.25" wide. They are 2.8" ProLine Sand Paws on electric Stampede rear wheels.

I've been super busy with overtime at work so my project isn't coming along as fast as I have wanted but this weekend I bought some Weld edition Pro Line beadlocks 40 series wheels used from a guy on Facebook. They should look huge with either Interco Swampers or Rock Rage tires. Were you thinking about changing your tire size?

I plan on going with 2.2" wheels and ProLine Super Swamper TSLs.

I narrowed my wheels today. They went from 3 7/8" to 3 1/4". Now, the left front tire doesn't rub on the servo mount when it turns.

Put the crew cab body on and mounted it 1" lower.

I also opened up the new 55T Integy lathe motors after reading about poor build quality and out-of-round comms. I put the armatures in my lathe and took a clean-up cut to true the comms. They both only took .001-.002 to clean up. I must have lucked out and got a couple good motors.

You are a really good machinist. How did you narrow the rims? Did you weld them and then cut them in a lathe? Great job.

Thanks!

I put them in my lathe and cut them just inside of the inner bead and then flipped the cut-off piece around and pressed it on. The larger ID at the bead luckily was a few thousandths smaller than the OD of the center of the wheels between the beads.

Got a little work done today. I mounted the battery holder over the front axle to move the weight forward. If I find it makes the truck too top heavy, I'll move it back to the lower center of the frame. Added spacers between the lower links and frame to gain more clearance between the lower shock mounts and the motors. At full flex I was afraid of the mounts shorting out against the endbells.

I've decided to run 3S LiPo batteries so I ordered a low voltage alarm since my old-school Novak Super Rooster was made before the days of LiPo batteries. I also have a Futaba 3PL radio coming.

Got my Clod running again. I'm really liking the Futaba 3PL radio. It switches between 4WS and crab steer with a bump of the Dual-rate switch. The tires need glued so I can get to crawling. It's faster than I expected with the 55 turns on 3S.

I made frame rails to mount the body and bumpers to. The body took quite a bit of trimming to clear the tires.

Put on the old body and did a little crawling in the garage today. Started painting the new body and should have it done tomorrow.

Shot a short video.

Very nice, I would still run a thin bead of E6000 around inside the wheel so they stay together when you're bashing. Very nice Clod!

Thanks!

There's not much danger in the wheels coming apart as hard as they pressed together.

Got started on the front bumper and rock sliders for the sides.

Bumpers and sliders are almost ready to weld. They're held together with super glue now.

Started machining a set of axle tubes. Next up are the "C"s for the tube ends and then a set of knuckles.
