Thanks guys! I'm thinking of building new gearboxes with these worm gears. I can get a 30:1 ratio with just 2 gears. I'll add another gear to run the pinion against to allow for changing ratios before the worm gears. The worm gears should be ideal for a crawler since a high ratio worm gear drive takes a lot of force to backdrive. That will hold the truck in place when off the throttle and not roll downhill. |
