Default Thundertech Straight Axle?

DOes anyone run these on there 2.2's? Or are they just not needed? I thought of buying them for the lockout and added strengh. If a 2.2 Clod doesn't need them. I guess there's no reason.

Most of the 2.2 Clod guys around here run them. Added strength along with fixed rear, no need to make lockouts. You can chop off the knuckle steering arms once the solid axle has been installed.

I think they will put more stress on the shaft without a lockout. The only thing controlling the wheel would be the shaft. So if you took a good roll and landed on a tire I think that would be ALOT of force on the shaft.

Then follow the norm and stick a flat washer between the knuckle and axle housing. Simple cheap lockout. We've also been using the washer method before the solid axle was sold. Then you can still chop off the steering horn off the knuckle without fear.

4 washers? what are you locking out all your knuckles? you only need 2 1/2" washers( 1 for each side)
