Default New Clod Buildup....."Pics Added"

Hey guys, pretty new to this, but I'm gonna do a Clod buildup. Thanks to Brett at CPE, I should have my Evilution Chassis kit by then end of the week so i can get started.

Im going to go with the Evilution Chassis kit from CPE with Tmaxx Shocks. I will also be using the rear steer lockout kit. Power will be coming from 2 monster stock motors. This truck will be mainly for my son and I to mess around with. I'm going for a more scale Monster truck look, and possibly race it in a monster truck style race. Unfortunately no crawling.....I dont know where any rocks are around here:( i will start posting pics of the build as soon as I get the chassis. Keep checking back for updates.

I want to thank Brett at CPE again.....

David

Hey guys, just wanted to give you all an update. i got my CPE EVO kit today in the mail. Locked the rear steer out, and used some tmaxx shocks. I did run into one problem though, the steering is fine one way, but then doesnt really turn the other. I think I need a new servo horn, but have no idea which one to use. Any suggestions would be great. I'll take some pics when it gets light out tomorrow on the few rocks I have in my yard. Im very pleased with this chassis and would reccomend it to anyone.

it sounds like your horn doesnt have equal throw in both directions, got any quick pics of it inside the house?
edit- also try , you didnt center your servo arm on the servo. take off the horn, then power up the radio and center the sevo, then straighten the wheels and put the horn back on, and it should be good.

Does your radio have end point adjustments? Maybe the endpoint is set too shallow in the direction that doesn't turn so well.

Ok guys,

Here are some pics. now remember, I am kinda going for a monster truck look to this one. But after messing with it last night, i think I do want a crawelr as well lololol. I'm just waiting on a Gravedigger body for this one, and plan to upgrade the electronics sometime. i also took a picture of the front steering so maybe you could diagnose what wrong with it. Enjoy!

From your shot with the wheels pointing straight ahead, it looks like your servo horn would bind when you try and turn to the right. I generally try and have the servo horn pointing straight down when the wheels are straight.

You'll 1st need to center your servo travel, remove the horn from wherever it's pointed, then adjust it on its splines so it points straight down. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Brett, I was digging around in an old parts box and found a servo horn that was a bit larger and worked great. this thing has so many characteristics of a real monster truck its not even funny. I cant wait to get the gravedigger body on it just to put the icing on the cake. Im so happy with this truck and the way it handles, I would reccomend that anyone get an Evo chassis, or any from Brett for that matter. THUMBS UP!

I also wanted to thank my son Kaleb for letting me use his General Lee car for these photos
