| need clod buster advice please
his is my first Clod I just ordered a super clod buster off line...I am wanting to fix it up some to be able to do below and just because stock is never fun....Tinkering with rc is half the fun... I have had revos in the past and losi eight buggy...Im not totally new to rc but have been out of it for 5-6 yrs or so.... Thinking about getting this radio Airtronics MT-4 Pistol Radio Transmitter 2.4G w/ Receiver MT4 90481 and a fast eddy bearing set (24 bearing) If there is another radio set I should look at please let me know and as far as the bearingsis is there one set/brand better than the other? As far as esc / motors im clueless ...Brushed/Brushless which one? I would like to have under $1000.00 total in the whole project if possible...Already spent $300 on the kit so I have about $700 left for upgrade/radio/motor/esc etc... Please let me know your thoughts...Main goal is to have it durable speeds maybe around 25MPH wheelie power and be able to pull small children on a wagon ... Are all 3 of these possible or is it all torque no speed vice / versa Type deal viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22263&hilit=pulling+kids+in+a+ wagon |

Keeping budget in mind, I'd recommend you go with the Airtronics MK-V radio. It's $100 less than the MT4, and comes with a waterproof rX. As for brushed/brushless... Again, if you want to save some cost (you can easily spend over $1000 building a Clod) stick with a dual brushed setup. You can get a single ESC to run it (Traxxas/Castle/etc.) and brushed motors are cheap! Plus, they offer good power for the price. 25mph PLUS enough torque to pull a wagon? I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too... Stick with a lower turn motor like a 45t for pulling. 25mph, you'll need a 20t motor. |

Wow! I own a clod myself. First off let me say that with any combination of motor, esc, even batteries! The plastic gears inside the plastic axle housings is never guna pull a wagon with kids. Even on a flat surface. Even if the plastic components did survive the attempt. (Which is a 50/50 chance) The truck isnt even close to heavy enuf to get the traction to bite and pull.. Although it sounds like a cool idea, in reality, if you're looking to pull kids in a wagon Id suggest an HPI 5T.. Or something similar in the 1/5 scale category.
