| Titanium angle
Has anyone tried using titanium angle for a stick? If I remember right, from my mountain biking days, titanium is stronger and more flexible than aluminum. You can get by using a piece much thinner, and probably not have to worry about drilling holes |

titanium is MUCH stiffer then aluminum, titanium does NOT flex, it breaks. properties are similiar to carbon fiber.

Here's some titanium properties http://www.sheldonbrown.com/frame-materials.html Here's a link for titanium angle.....could be mounted like a V with nylon countersink bolts....not sure if they offer alloys... http://ticotitaniuminc.thomasnet.com...d=1&backtoname= I've seen titanium that's crazy expensive, and some that's not.....Look on ebay...you can find titanium sheet (12"x2"x1/16" which can be shaped into angles or channels) for only $9.00....just have to form it. I'll grab some up and try it. Last edited by DrexeL; 12-23-2006 at 05:20 PM. | |
