| NN Chassis build started
The wife got me a Carbon Fiber NN and some other goodies from thecrawlerstore.com and while this build is nothing special, I just thought I'd share some progress. The chassis built and a few parts that will go into it. Had I known the wife was buying this for me, I would NEVER have sold my Axial beadlock setup. :( Now I have to decide on wheels/tires, body (I have a few ideas), etc. Last edited by zBigBadWolf; 12-19-2016 at 10:14 PM. |

Looking good man! Sorry about the beadlocks. That must have been a sorry rascal to try and talk you out of those. |

i'm real happy with my CFNN! you made the right choice with the hot bodies shocks. a couple of suggestions- ditch the traxxas ball ends. invest in some aluminum ends from RCP crawlers. they are expensive, but better than ending a comp or crawl early because you broke a plastic ball end. i know, i've broken tons of them! they work for 2.2 rigs, not supers. i have my wheelbase set to 17 inches. i originally had it at 16", bumping it up an inch made a world of difference. not to rip on your choice of tire, but you will probably get a set of moabs again soon after trying the red rocks. take the time to set-up your rig after you finish it. try to balance the weight the best you can. you'll be glad you did! i finish better and keep up with sticks in our local comps. |

As for the Red Rocks, I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve which may make them more worthy. I really prefer the look of them and am kinda tired of seeing Moabs. If they refuse to cooperate, I'll go with my ole faves, Giant Tracs. Wheelbase... Unless I can find a body that looks humane with a 17" wheelbase, 16" is as far as I want to go and I'll do a 60/40 setup. One thing I don't like is having a body that looks ridiculously misfit. Yea, maybe I am a lil too appearance concious. The wheels are plastic Maximizers but the rings are metal. Got them from Country Alloy Works. Last edited by zBigBadWolf; 12-27-2006 at 04:39 PM. | |

I also have a cfnn it was 17'' wheel base now its 19'' it does a lot better climbing than it did before. you might want to flip your shocks over to help lower your cg's. chimney. |
